Baby Portrait Poses

Babies can be a delight to photograph! Everything is new and exciting for infants, and our baby photographers capture that sense of wonder in our legacy portraits. However, capturing infant poses can sometimes be a challenge and proper preparation is directly related to the success of the photo shoot. In preparation for your infant’s photo session, please remember to:

• Schedule your appointment time when your infant is at his or her best
• Bring a car seat to help prop up your baby
• Bring a comforter, a sheepskin rug, or a furry blanket for your infant to lie on
• Bring your baby’s favorite stuffed animals and toys for a personal touch

At Kim Jew, we have tons of toys to use as props for your baby’s portrait! However, a favorite toy can sometimes put your infant at ease and personalize your baby’s portrait.

Children’s Portrait Poses

Do you have a shy child that won’t smile for the camera? No problem! At Kim Jew, we have over 34 years of experience coaxing children out of their shells and into adorable poses that celebrate their individuality. Before your child’s portrait session please remember to:

• Bring several changes of clothes that capture different aspects of your child’s personality
• Bring your child’s favorite toys and stuffed animals
• Bring any musical instruments, sports equipment, or other props that involve your child’s favorite hobbies
• Bring flowers and/or balloons to liven up your child’s portrait
• Bring your child’s favorite music to help him or her relax and have fun 

One of the best ways to bond with your child and nurture his or her self-esteem during the photo session is to ask his or her input. Does he want to pose with his mini guitar? Does she want to create a charming tea party pose with all of her stuffed animals sitting at a table with her? At Kim Jew, we will guide you and your child through the photo session to achieve cute and memorable portraits that will last a lifetime.

At Kim Jew, we provide stunning senior portrait poses that celebrate you! To prepare for your rockin’ senior photo session, consider the following senior portrait tips:

Female Seniors

Female seniors should use the following guidelines when preparing for their senior portrait photo session:

• Wear dark and bright solids
• Plan your clothing from head to toe
• Bring funky accessories like hats, scarves, and sunglasses to accent your outfit
• 2 or 3 fresh cut flowers such as roses, Gerbera daisies, irises, tulips, and lilies make beautiful props
• Bring sports equipment, musical instruments, bikes, and skateboards
• Bring a friend, pet, or sibling to pose with
• Dress in layers so that you can easily switch up your look
• Plan at least one casual outfit and one more formal outfit
• Bring your favorite music

In addition, female seniors should apply their makeup and style their hair as if they are attending an important event like prom.

Male Seniors

Male seniors should consider the following senior portrait tips when preparing for their photo session:

• Wear dark and bright solids
• Plan your clothing from head to toe
• Bring a long sleeve black shirt or turtleneck
• Bring a few of your favorite CDs to play during your session 
• Dress in layers such as letter jackets, denim, and khaki jackets
• Bring sports equipment, musical instruments, bikes, and skateboards
• Bring hats and sunglasses for accessories
• Plan one casual outfit and one that is more formal
